School Community Council

The School LAND Trust Program, established by the legislature in 1999, distributes a portion of the annual earnings from the permanent School Fund to all public schools in the state.  The annual distribution from the School LAND Trust program has grown from $4.95 million in the 2001-2002 school year to a planned distribution of over $88.83 million in 2020-2021.

Our School Community Council exists to monitor and approve how Valley High distributes these funds, as well as funds allocated to schools from the Utah Legislature through the Teacher and Student Success Act (TSSA).  Each year, the principal writes a Land Trust plan and TSSA plan for each of those funds.  After review, the council is asked to approve each plan (see below for recent plans).

We are always interested in hearing your voice! If you or someone you know might be interested in joining our School Community Council, please see the information at this link. Community Council members are elected and member responsibilities are assigned according to USBE guidelines.
