- Do you have to live in the Jordan School District to attend Valley High School?
~You have to live in the Jordan School District to attend Valley High School without a permit. Students who reside in Canyons District or another school district are accepted on a Space Available basis only. Be sure to attend the orientation session for JSD or Out of District students accordingly to your address and boundary school. Be sure to check our registration information for all the documents you would need to bring to be our student. - What grade(s) do we allow to register at Valley High School?
~Valley accepts 11th and 12th graders. 10th graders are accepted second semester only, on a limited basis. - What are the hours for Valley High School?
~We have classes from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Each student who registers at Valley will have a set time that they will attend their classes. Classes run Monday and Wednesday, Tuesday and Thursday. Each class is 55 minutes long (see Valley's Schedule). There are no regular classes on Friday. - Is there School busing to Valley High School?
~Jordan School District provides a bus for students on the morning schedule. Students may have to walk to a bus pick point but the JSD bus will bring students and drop them back off to those select stops. For help, see our Transportation Page - What is the cost to attend Valley High School?
~There is a one-time registration fee of $50.00 that will need to be paid at the time the student meets with his or her counselor and gets their schedule. The only other fee the student may need to pay is $35.00 per packet for any makeup packets that the student needs (see your counselor). - Does Valley have a packet program?
~No, Valley has regular classes with teachers each day. We do allow students who are behind on their credits to buy credit recovery packets if they are passing their regular classes in the day. The fee for any packet is $35.00 - Is there a dress code?
~The dress code at Valley High School is the same throughout the Jordan District. Valley High allows students to wear hats at school. - What is the attendance policy at Valley High School?
Each student is allowed 2 absences per quarter. If the student misses a 3rd time, he or she could be dropped from that class. Students need to email every teacher each day that they are absent with the reason why they will not be in school. Students may also call and leave voicemails for their teachers directly. - How many students per class?
~We try to keep our classes small. There are 20 students per class each hour. - Do we have a lunch room or lockers?
We do have a lunch room that serves breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is from 8:30 to 9:15. Lunch is served from 11:00 to 12:30. We also have a vending machine with nutritious snacks foods for our afternoon students. We do not have lockers for the students. - Do we have a yearbook and graduation ceremony?
~We do have a yearbook, student pictures are taken 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarters only to be included in the book. We do have a lovely graduation ceremony where the students will receive a regular diploma. This is at the end of the school year. - Where are Valley High School records?
